Wild Women Expeditions started as a canoe tripping company for women but has expanded to offer the most eclectic range of women's retreats in Canada!

Are you a wild woman? If escaping the city to head north into Northern Ontario bush appeals to you, we may be your answer! Set on 200 acres of unspoiled wilderness, our basecamp offers shared accommodation in quaint, rustic riverside cabins or prospector tents, wondrous cooks, canoes and bikes to borrow and fabulous swimming! We invite a host of talented resource women up to focus on subjects as diverse as landscape painting to fly fishing.

Our events aim to nourish your artistic sensibilities and spirit, your need for activity and restoration. A restored 1920s northern fishing camp, the ecologically minded will appreciate the low-tech simplicity of outdoor showers, outhouses, wood heat, private waterfront for swimming, access to canoes, sauna, excellent country road cycling, organic gardens, and paths into the woods. Our relaxed schedule will combine group sessions with plenty of time for relaxation and outdoor fun. A body-work therapist is often available on-site for appointments.

Generally pricing is all inclusive: the workshop fee, meals and basecamp stay. For some retreats you may elect to participate as a “day tripper” only which means you can be based off-site and attend workshop sessions by day.

During many workshop times, you can elect to have a basecamp stay but not participate in the workshop.

Wild Women In Training Camp (A camp for girls and the wild women in their lives)
This unique camp is for girls, aged 8-14, along with their mums, older sisters, aunts, Big Sisters, or other supportive wild women. This is a chance to enjoy the atmosphere, resources and camaraderie of Wild Women Expeditions with the budding wild girl in your life. The camp will offer a balance for girls in a camp programme designed just for them; time for adults; time for each girl to share with her guardian. The girls will have their own counselors and activities focusing on nature lore, camp craft, sports, cooperative games, arts AND a canoe trip!
5 nights, July 11 - 16 ($675 CAD for each) includes 5 nights, all meals, girls programme and day adventures for mums)

Ultimate Wild Women Weekend III
Enjoy a  wonderful 3 nights  at WWE's Northern Ontario basecamp: 230 waterfront acres with cabins, sauna, amazing meals, and eclectic workshop offerings. Outdoor-themed  mini- workshops include: how to stern/solo a canoe; intro to sea kayaking, beginners mountain biking. Arts based workshops like Improv Comedy, Vocal Work, Writing, Hawaiian Fire Dancing, Salsa Dancing. Earth focussed themes such as Global Activism, Understanding Naturopathy,  Yoga and MORE!!!  This is our largest event of the summer. Tons of fun, lots of interested spirited women to frolic with.

Mark this year’ transition from summer to autumn by devoting a long weekend to immerse yourself on exploring self-expression: through movement, voice, paints, written word, spoken word in the company of other supportive creative women. WWE marks this year of many “firsts” to amassing fantastic creative team of resource women to facilitate a magical series of arts-based workshops designed to harness your creative spirit. Honour your inner dilettante!
